Coastal Kiddos was created to reconnect children with the outdoors. In today's electronic age, many kids are growing up without any introduction to the natural world. Coastal kiddos aims to change that by teaching children about the outdoors through games, activities, and lessons.
Our Mission
Our mission is to connect kids in San Diego to the natural world around them. We hope that, by creating a connection with nature at a young age, we will help create life-long outdoorsman and women. We believe that this relationship with nature is an important one for our health and the health of our plant. We want to help pass this love and appreciation of the outdoors on to the next generation.
Our Impact
Coastal Kiddos is proud to partner with 1% for the Planet, pledging 1% of our annual sales to environmental and social causes. For the past five years, we’ve supported:

Brooks is an outdoor educator from La Jolla with over 10 years of experience working with children. Growing up with mentors who shaped her love for learning, she was inspired to do the same for future generations. With a degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz, Brooks has dedicated her career to fostering a deep connection between children and the natural world. In an era where screens and packed schedules keep kids indoors, Coastal Kiddos provides a space for exploration, play, and discovery—where every kiddo can build confidence, friendships, and a lifelong appreciation for nature. Her mission is to inspire curiosity and create meaningful outdoor experiences that leave lasting memories.

Zora is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she moved to San Diego for college and graduated with a degree in astronomy from SDSU...
Zora is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she moved to San Diego for college and graduated with a degree in astronomy from SDSU. Her personal interests include geology, bird watching and plant medicine. Zora is passionate about sharing natural spaces with children and encouraging them to be observant and curious about their environments. When Zora is not working she loves to crochet, garden and snorkel. Her favorite animal is a raccoon.

Mariela was raised in San Diego, CA. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and, shortly after, relocated to Whitefish, Montana...
Mariela was raised in San Diego, CA. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and, shortly after, relocated to Whitefish, Montana. There, she grew her love for the outdoors while working at a garden center and nursery. Now back home, Mariela is continuing her education in conservation sciences. When Mariela is not working, she hikes, climbs, cooks, writes, and spends time with her dog, Milo. Mariela hopes to inspire curiosity and encourage others to learn from and connect with the natural world. Her favorite animal is a bear.

Hannah was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to San Diego to pursue her interest in nature education. She went to school at the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Sustainability and Political Science with a minor in Marine Policy...
Hannah was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to San Diego to pursue her interest in nature education. She went to school at the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Sustainability and Political Science with a minor in Marine Policy. She has always loved the outdoors and specifically the beach! She has worked as a Nature Program Coordinator in the past and loves watching kids explore the outdoors. In her free time she loves to go to the gym, sew, and try new coffee spots! Her favorite animal is an elephant.
