What is Coastal Kiddos Outdoor Summer Camp?

Where is the camp located?
During the school year we have rotating locations to keep things interesting such as San Dieguito County Park, Swamis Beach, Annies Canyon in our North County hub or places like Torrey Pines State Beach, Kellogg Park, Scripps Beach for our La Jolla Hub. During the summer you will be at one location for the whole week to dive into your specific theme across San Diego.

What age group is the camp for?
4.5-11. Kiddos are not grouped by age unless class size permits.

Can my child attend for just one day instead of a full week or semester?
Drop in is available one week before if class size permits. Priority is given to a full week or semester.

When will I receive camp details?
​Camp details will be sent out two weeks before including exact pick up and drop off location.

Registration & Payment
How do I register my child for camp?
On our website you will see programs listed with descriptions and the ability to book. The booking will take you to Sawyer, a platform specific to booking camps. You can find out more about our programs here. ​​
What is your cancellation and refund policy?​
We ask that if you need to cancel a session or will not be attending that you let us know 4 weeks in advance if not you will be charged in full as we reserve your spot for each session. $100 deposit will be kept for summer camps.​
Safety & Supervision
Who are the camp instructors, and what are their qualifications?
Teachers are college graduated, trained, CPR / first aid certified. View our list of teachers here.

What happens in case of bad weather?
Programs will not be canceled unless there is a severe weather warning. "There is no such thing as inappropriate weather, only inappropriate clothing."
Daily Activities & Packing List
What should my child bring to camp?
Full water bottle, snack, lunch, sun protection, warmth layers, clothing that can get wet and or dirty, binos, and optional paper and coloring utensils for journaling.

Is lunch provided, or do campers bring their own?
Pack your own lunch.

What should my child wear?
Close toed shoes.

Are there any activities that involve water or swimming?
Some of our ocean camps leave time for water play. Kiddos are not permitted unless swim tested by teacher.
Special Accommodations
Can you accommodate children with allergies or special needs?
We do accommodate all children, but will need safety measures checked off before moving forward.

​Are parents allowed to stay and observe?
Parents are allowed for the beginning of the day, but then are asked to leave in order not to affect class dynamic. Notice must be given.

Do you offer early drop-off or late pick-up options?
We offer both for a fee of $1 every minute. For example, $60 for an hour early or late.
